PTS Programs/Services for Nursing Homes

PTS has a wide range of protocols and services available to ensure interdisciplinary quality care at your facility. The list of programs is ever-changing to meet the needs of long-term care facilities. Each program includes treatment protocols, staff education material and forms to ensure that each patient attains and maintains his highest practical functional ability:

  • Splint and adaptive equipment programs
  • Restraint reduction
  • Positioning programs
  • Incontinency programs
  • Cognitive and communication programs
  • Feeding and dining room programs
  • Restorative aide training programs: 1 or 2 day formats available
  • Screening by PT, OT, ST for new admissions, re-admissions and changes in status
  • Restorative programs for eating, bathing/grooming, dressing and mobility skills
  • Occupational Rehab Aide training:  PTS is the only Peoria based approved course provider for this program
  • Occupational Rehab Aide program
  • Physical Rehab Aide training:  PTS is the only Peoria based approved course provider for this program
  • Physical Rehab Aide program
  • Health and Fitness program: group and individual exercise programs to promote wellness
  • Diet and swallowing assessment
  • Emergency swallow evaluations and close collaboration with hospital speech therapists to perform the Modified Barium Swallow Study (cookie swallow)
  • Contracture Management: protocols, in-services and forms
  • Fall management
  • Facility Quality Indicator improvement programs
  • CNA competency program
  • Patient room modification for low vision residents
  • Back school and lift training for facility employees
  • Safety programs for employees to reduce facility workman’s compensation injuries from lifting, repetitive trauma and/or cumulative trauma
  • For facility staff who perform office work, PTS will do workstation modifications upon facility request

In addition to the above programs, PTS is actively involved with the facility management team; upon facility request, PTS will attend departmental meetings and become available whenever State surveyors are present.  PTS will also keep the facility abreast on industry trends, as well as State and Federal regulatory changes as it relates to rehabilitation.
