Professional Therapy Services, Inc. would be “flexible.”
Flexible in the array of services offered, flexible in where the
services are provided and flexible in the times they are available.
PTS, whose Corporate Office is located in Belleville, IL and our
Regional Office in Peoria, offers Physical, Occupational and Speech
Therapy programs and services for hospitals, home health agencies,
long-term care facilities, and in outpatient clinics. PTS offers the full
spectrum of rehabilitation services within the continuum of care.
Together, the Central and Southern Regions of PTS employ nearly 350
Therapists, Therapy Assistants and support personnel. When PTS
President Mike Riley and Regional Director, Cindy Rankin developed the
initial business plan, they envisioned the delivery of services in a number of
different settings. Traditionally, when therapists completed training, they
were employed in rehabilitation departments within hospitals and nursing
homes. Their desire was to establish a group practice which would provide
diversity in the number of programs and services offered.
PTS, which will mark its 27th year of operation in 2008, began
offering services primarily in nursing homes. In June of 1981 we
opened our first outpatient clinic in Morton, IL. From that point
forward, PTS has seen steady growth in patient volume and in the number
of employees. With business growth, came the challenge of recruiting
qualified therapists of which there is a shortage. PTS has met this challenge
by offering flexible work schedules and part-time hours for our personnel.
There are a number of different therapy services available in Central Illinois.
Many are physician-owned or are part of a corporation. PTS is unique in that
we are a therapist-owned-and-operated company offering a full array of services
within the continuum of care.
With well equipped Outpatient Clinics and fully staffed therapy departments,
PTS is prepared to treat acute injuries, post-surgeries and most chronic conditions. Among the
many services offered are
Aquatic Therapy,
Chronic Pain Management,
Vestibular Rehabilitation,
Lymphedema Treatment and
Occupational Rehabilitation.
PTS’ Speech-Language Services include evaluation and treatment for speech
disorders resulting from traumatic brain injuries, stroke,
Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s,
multiple sclerosis and other degenerative diseases. Speech fluency,
visual perceptual deficits, swallowing dysfunctions, voice disorders, and cognitive linguistic deficits are also treated.
PTS’ Occupational Therapy services include scapular stabilization, static/dynamic splinting, ADL retaining,
Low Vision Rehabilitation, and use of adaptive equipment.
We also participate in the offering of Parkinson’s, Geriatric and Wheelchair Clinics
with an emphasis on a multi-disciplinary approach to providing therapy services.
PTS treats people of all ages and conditions. All therapists are licensed, having passed a state board examination.
Some are also certified and trained in specialty areas such as
Lymphedema Treatment,
Low Vision Rehabilitation,
Aquatic Therapy,
Vestibular Rehabilitation,
Women’s Health,
Pediatric
and Geriatric Therapy and
Occupational Rehabilitation.
PTS’ Educational Programs are unique to the area. PTS was one of the first to its own education division.
The vision was to have a state certified, continuing education program for therapy professionals.
Now, they bring in national speakers for training seminars so all area therapists can benefit.
